Pistachio Cake

An extremely simple easy cake to make that surprisingly light and moist that your family and guests will absolutely love. Be prepared for this cake to disappear very quickly when served!

Ingredients
  

Cream:

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs

Add:

  • 1 pkg instant pistachio pudding
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Frosting:

  • 1 pt heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pkg instant pistachio pudding
  • 2 tsps confectionary sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

Grease & flour tube pan.

  • Cream yellow cake mix with the eggs.
  • Add the pistachio pudding, oil, water & chopped nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

  • When cake is done, let cool in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Remove cake from pan & place on wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting:

  • Whip the heavy cream until thick & peaks form.
  • Slowly add the milk & continue to whip until thick again.
  • Add the pistachio pudding, confectionary sugar & vanilla.
  • Cut cake in half & frost bottom half of cake. Place top part of cake on bottom. Continue to frost the rest of the cake.
  • Keep cake refrigerated.

Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup butter melted & cooled
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 3 egg yokes
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour

Filling

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2-1/4 cups ground walnuts

Icing

  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp butter, softened.
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 oz cream cheese optional
  • 3-4 tsp milk

Instructions
 

Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Add the butter, milk, egg yolks, sugar, salt & flour.
  • Beat until smooth. Do not knead.
  • Cover & refrigerate overnight.

Filling

  • *Note: Prepare filling the same day prior to rolling out dough.
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat egg whites & vanilla on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, on high until stiff glossy peaks form & sugar is dissolved.
  • Fold in walnuts; set aside.

Dough

  • Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes or until easy to handle.
  • Divide into thirds.
  • Roll each portion into a 15-in. x 13-in. rectangle.
  • Spread filling over rectangle to within 1/2 in. of edges.
  • Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side and pinch seams to seal.
  • Place seam side down on greased baking sheets.
  • Cover & let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

Icing

  • Combine icing ingredients.
  • Drizzle over coffee cakes.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cup gluten free flour of your choosing Bob's Red Mill
  • 1 box 3.4 oz. dry instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. gr. cinnamon

Coating

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. gr. cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup sugar and Tbsp cinnamon and set aside.
  • Cream together butter and shortening.
  • Add sugar and mix until fluffy.
  • Add eggs and extracts and mix.
  • Add sifted dry ingredients and mix.
  • Cover with plastic and chill.
  • Preheat oven to 350*F.
  • Using your hands, roll dough into ping pong size balls.
  • Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture until completely covered.
  • Place cookie dough on parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for approx. 12 minutes.
  • Allow to cool and serve.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 12 oz peanut butter
  • 8 oz Hershey bar or chocolate chips of your choice We use Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips.

Instructions
 

  • Grease & flour Jelly roll pan.
  • Scald milk & butter, set aside.
  • Beat eggs & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Slowly add the flour & baking powder to the egg mixture.
  • While adding the flour, alternate with the milk & butter.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
  • While cake is hot, spread with peanut butter.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Melt chocolate in double boiler.
  • Spread on top of peanut butter & refrigerate.
  • When chocolate is hard enough, score the top of the chocolate to help when cutting pieces of the cake, return to refrigerator.

Ingredients
  

Pie Filling (mix everything together and set aside)

  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Dough (do not chill)

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 9 oz. cream cheese

Instructions
 

  • combine flour, butter, cream cheese and mix by hand
  • Make into one-inch dough balls
  • place individual dough balls into tartlet pans
  • press dough to fit into the pans creating a
  • Cut off any excess dough above the pan
  • add filling and bake at 350* for 15-20 min.
  • let cool for approx. 20-30 min. and remove from pan.

Cake Batter

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 16 oz can pumpkin or 2 cups cooked & mashed pumpkin

  • 4 oz. GHA Pumpkin Butter
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsps cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine eggs, sugar, oil & pumpkin in mixer bowl
  • Beat until smooth
  • Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda cinnamon & salt in a bowl
  • Combine flour & pumpkin mixture & mix well
  • Spread in ungreased 15 x 11 X 1 inch baking pan
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown
  • Cool on wire rack

Frosting

  • Beat butter & cream cheese until light
  • Add vanilla & confectioners' sugar mixing well after each addition

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz Bacon
  • 1 med Head of cabbage (cut into bite size pieces)
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 3 Large garlic cloves (cut into tiny pieces)
  • 6 oz Egg noodles (cooked unit done to taste)

Instructions
 

  • Fry bacon until crisp & put on paper towel to drain excess drippings
  • When done frying bacon, put excess drippings into a bowl & save
  • Cut up onion & fry in pan with some bacon drippings for a few minutes
  • Add garlic to pan & continue to fry with the onion until tender
  • Add cabbage to pan, cover & cook until cabbage is done to your desired texture
  • While cabbage is cooking, prepare egg noodles
  • Break bacon into small pieces
  • When cabbage is at the desired texture, add the cooked egg noodle & bacon pieces
  • Continue to cook & add some of the bacon drippings along with salt & pepper to taste
  • Serve warm as a side dish to any main course

Cake

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup water
  • confectioners' sugar

Instructions
 

Filling

  • In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, egg & salt
  • Beat until creamy
  • Stir in 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Set aside

Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Melt over hot (not boiling) water, choclate chips. Stir until smooth
  • Remove from heat, set aside
  • In large bowl, conbine sugar, vegetable oil, egg & vanilla
  • Beat well
  • Stir in melted chocolate chips
  • Alternate flour, baking soda & salt with water
  • Spoon 1/2 of the cake batter into 16 paper lined cupcake pans
  • Spoon 1 slightly rounded tablespoon of the Filling mixture over cake batter
  • Spoon the remaing cake batter over the Filling
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes
  • Cool 5 minutes: Remove from pans
  • Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts

Your favorite pie crusts

    Instructions
     

    • Sauce: melt 1 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate with 1/2 cup water
    • Add 2/3 cup sugar
    • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly
    • Remove from heat: stir in 1/4 cup butter & 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • Set Aside
    • Cake Batter: stir together 1 cup flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt
    • Add 1/4 cup shortening, 1/2 cup milk & 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • Beat 2 minutes medium speed on mixer
    • Scrape sides & bottom of bowl constantly
    • Add 1 egg
    • Beat 2 minutes more scrapping bowl
    • Pour cake batter into pie shell
    • Stir sauce & pour carefully over cake batter
    • Sprinkle top with 1/2 finely chopped walnuts
    • Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean
    • Serve warm, if desired
