Apple Butter & Cider Marinated Pork Roast & Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Unbelievably delicious and tender! This simple dish is easy to prepare and will have your family and guests coming back for seconds before it’s all gone! This tasty creation pairs extremely well with garlic mashed potatoes & sauerkraut for a genuine country meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 5-6 lb. Boston Butt Pork Roast Or pork roast of your choice
  • 6 oz. G.H.A. Apple Butter & Cider Vinaigrette
  • 1 gal. Zip Lock Bag
  • salt & pepper To taste
  • Garlic Mashed Potatoes;
  • 10 2.5-3 lbs. Med. Potatoes
  • 2-3 Tbsp. G.H.A. Roasted Garlic Spread Or to taste
  • 2 cups Milk Or 1/2 & 1/2
  • salt & pepper To taste

Instructions
 

  • Choose 5-6 lb. quality pork butt roast, trim excess fat, place into 1 gal. zip lock bag, add 6 oz. G.H.A. Apple Butter & Cider Vinaigrette,seal and place into refrigerator.
  • Turn bag periodically for 72 hrs. while marinating prior to taking out for meal prep.
  • Remove from Zip lock bag, place in a dutch oven, pour remaining marinade into pan and allow to set an hr. before placing into preheated oven.
  • Place roast into a 425F preheated oven with lid off with fat side up and allow to brown for 20-30 min.
  • After browned, lower oven temp to 325F and cook till internal temp reaches 165F-170F and Remove from oven.
  • Allow to rest for 1/2 hr. slice thinly and place on serving plate.
  • Pour drippings through strainer to make your gravy to suit your taste.
